The not so curious case of hypocrisy.

The same guy being persecuted by the Parliament is now witnessing what we might call in Arabic “Tajlees” . His latest article declares the US as our enemy(Tell that the to budget director or maybe the King on his later visit to the US). He finishes up with requesting a regulation and a more strict monitoring of NGO’s.  I don’t know if I should call this irony, hypocrisy, a-kissing, fear, and/or ignorance. I find it amazing(well, not anymore) that we the people(well, at least some) define freedom of speech as it fits to our personal standards.

On a side note a Syrian was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for murdering his sister in Jordan. The case was most probably filed under “honor” crimes. Usually a Jordanian would get a six month to maybe a three year sentence for “honor” crimes, so why did this guy get a seven and half years remains a mystery to me. Maybe because he fled the country? See that might be the case-fleeing the country brings on a more severe punishment than killing your sister…Cool, right?

Hint: Queen Rania what about an “honor” crimes law reform initiative? Or is it too much of a political risk?
